MONMOUTH, Ore. - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer notched a tremendous victory on Saturday, coming from down 2-0 on the road to upend No. 13 Western Oregon 3-2.

The Nighthawks improve to 4-0-2 on the season, remaining undefeated through six games while handing the Wolves their first loss of the season as they drop to 4-1-1.

WOU looked impressive early, tallying in the 20
th and 25
th minutes to take the two-goal lead midway through the first half.

NNU's comeback would start immediately, though, as freshman
Alexis Cromwell scored her first collegiate goal just 89 seconds after the Wolves' second score. The Nighthawks evened things up at 2-2 before halftime, as fellow first-year player
Nicole Lewis scored her third goal of the season in the 41
st minute.

What proved to be the game-winner came in the 65
th minute, when Savannah Herz found
Madison Grande streaking in from the left side at the top of the box and Grande drilled a strike into the upper left corner of the goal.

- 5th time since NNU joined the GNAC in 2001 that it has overcome a 2-goal deficit to win.
- It has been four years since it has happened in the GNAC: The last time a GNAC team overcame a 2-goal deficit to win was on Oct. 17, 2019 when Central Washington beat Simon Fraser 3-2 after trailing 2-0 in Ellensburg, Wash.
- Third time NNU has achieved the feat against WOU: NNU beat WOU on Sept. 20, 2012 4-3 after trailing 2-0 (in Nampa, Idaho); NNU beat WOU on Oct. 1, 2001 4-3 after trailing 3-0 (in Nampa, Idaho).
- NNU's 4-3 win on Oct. 1, 2001 was the first time in GNAC history a conference team overcame a 2-0 deficit to win, and it was the only other time (besides MSUB's 4-3 win over Providence on Sept. 11, 2018) that a GNAC team overcame a 3-goal deficit to win.
- This is the 12th time that the team overcoming the 2-0 deficit was the road team. It is the first time that the road team has achieved the feat since WWU beat Concordia 3-2 on Nov. 10, 2018 after trailing 2-0.
- This is the first time NNU achieved the feat on the road, with its previous four come-from-behind wins all coming in home games.

The Nighthawks will now return home next week, hosting Seattle Pacific on Thursday night and Montana State Billings on Saturday.
