NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer defeated College of Idaho 2-0 during Saturday night's exhibition matchup.
College of Idaho took the first shot in the 11
th minute of the game, but it was off target. The first shot on goal was taken by the yotes in the 23
rd minute, but
Sawyer Price was credited with the save.
Nighthawks'
Jim Wagenaar took a shot on goal that was saved in the 26
th minute.
Javier Luevanos followed that up with a shot on goal in the 40
th minute that was also saved.
In the 63
rd minute of the match,
Jonathan Cardona sent a corner kick into the box and Jorge Gonzales put a header into the back of the net to break the scoreless tie.
Jim Wagenaar added a bit of insurance in the 87
th minute with a goal that was assisted by
Zakaria Daaou.
The Yotes took one more shot on goal that was blocked, bringing the match to its 2-0 final.
