SEATTLE, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer scored five goals while on the road Thursday to defeat Seattle Pacific.
The Nighthawks' record is now 5-6-6 overall and 3-3-5 in GNAC play.
The Falcons scored the first goal of the game in the first 17 seconds. NNU's confidence never wavered.
Jim Wagenaar scored his 13
th goal of the season in the fourth minute, and his 14
th goal of the season in the 27
th minute to give NNU a 2-1 lead at half. Wagenaar's first goal was assisted by
Zakaria Daaou, and his second goal was assisted by
Sullivan Smith.
Coming out of the half,
Sullivan Smith scored a goal of his own that was assisted by
Raoul Barragan. SPU tied the game at 3-3 with goals in the 57
th and 65
th minutes.
Jonathan Cardona scored the go-ahead goal in the 81
st minute to give NNU a 4-3 lead on an assist from
Alan Soto Ortiz.
Raoul Barragan put the game to rest with a goal in the 86
th minute.
NNU took eight shots in the game, and six of them were on goal.
Sawyer Price finished the game with three saves.
The Nighthawks final match is against Simon Fraser in Burnaby, B.C. on Saturday.
