BURNABY, B.C. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer fell 5-1 to Simon Fraser in their final game of the season.
The Nighthawks finished the season with a record of 5-7-6 overall and 3-4-5 in GNAC play.
Simon Fraser began the game with a goal in the fourth minute and went on to score three more goals before the 25-minute mark in the first half. NNU took three shots in the first half, with one of them on target from
Jim Wagenaar.
Zakaria Daaou scored NNU's goal in the 67
th minute of the contest. This was Daaou's second goal of the season. The Red Leafs added one final tally in the 76
th minute.
Sawyer Price was credited with seven saves in his final game as a Nighthawk.
Jim Wagenaar had a fantastic freshman season with 14 goals and is likely to finish the regular season as the GNAC's top goal scorer. The Nighthawks will most likely finish their GNAC schedule in third place.
