BURNABY, B.C. - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer dropped a heartbreaker to Simon Fraser on Thursday night, giving up an own goal with just 90 seconds remaining to fall to the Red Leafs 1-0.

The Nighthawks move to 4-2-3 on the season and 2-2-1 in GNAC play.

NNU held the upper hand in creating chances, registering 13 shots with five on goal while SFU tallied eight shots and just three on goal.

It was the Red Leafs that would break the scoreless draw, though, in the final moments. SFU earned a corner and sent the ball into the box, where it was knocked around a few times before Kaiden Sherwood sent it towards goal. The ball deflected off an NNU defender and into the net just past the near post.

The Nighthawks will now drive down I-5 and prepare to take on Western Washington on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Pacific in Bellingham.
