Nighthawks Succumb to Saints Sweep

LACEY, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene volleyball struggled to find their footing against a Saint Martin's squad playing tough at home on Saturday, falling in three sets to the Saints.

NNU moves to 10-11 on the season and 6-7 in GNAC action.

The Saints came out of the gates on fire, opening a 15-4 lead after 10 unanswered points and eventually rolling to a 25-12 set one victory.

Set two was much closer, with SMU leading most of the way but NNU fighting back to take a 21-20 lead with five points in a row. NNU would still lead 23-22, but the Saints took the last three points to take the set 25-23.

Set three was close again, with the teams tied at 16. SMU then scored five of the next six to go up 21-17 and held on from there for the 25-21 victory to take the match.
