SEATTLE, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer fell short of a comeback attempt at No. 24 Seattle Pacific on Saturday, falling to the Falcons 2-1.

The Nighthawks move to 4-5-6 on the season and 2-5-4 in GNAC play.

Seattle Pacific came out strong in the opening half, scoring first in the 28
th minute and again in the 36
th to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

NNU had more chances in the opening 45 minutes, though, putting six shots on goal to just three for the Falcons.

The Nighthawks would draw back within one in the 66
th minute, when
Madison Grande pounced on a failed SPU clear just outside the box and rifled a shot into the upper left corner of the net for the goal.

NNU would have a couple of late chances to equalize, including a pair of corner kicks in the 87
th and 88
th minutes, but the Nighthawks could not find the tying goal.

Bailey Blancett made seven saves in goal. Grande finished with five shots and two on goal, while
Savanna Herz added three shots with two on target.

NNU is next scheduled to play at Saint Martin's on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Pacific before closing out the regular season at home on Saturday for Senior Day against Western Oregon.
