NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer finished Saturday's afternoon matchup against Montana State Billings with a 2-2 draw.
The Nighthawks' record is now 4-5-5 overall and 2-2-4 in GNAC play.
In the 19
th minute of the game, the Nighthawks took a 1-0 lead when
Sullivan Smith netted a goal with the assist coming from
Jonathan Cardona. The 1-0 score held through the first half.
The Yellowjackets tied the game with a goal in the 59
th minute, then proceeded to take a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 77
th minute.
With under two minutes remaining in the contest,
Ousman Garba put a ball in the net for the Nighthawks, bringing the game to a 2-2 final. There was a double assist on Garba's goal, credited to Cardona and
Pablo Gonzalez.
Smith's goal was his first on the season, and Garba's goal was his first as well.
Pablo Gonzalez earned his first assist of the season, and Cardona earned his fourth. NNU took nine shots and MSUB took 5 shots on goal. NNU had five corner kicks to MSUB's zero.
The Nighthawks next match is at home against the current conference leader, Simon Fraser. That matchup is set to begin at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 2
