BILLINGS, Mont. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer defeated Montana State Billings 4-0 on Thursday night.
The Nighthawks' record is now 3-4-3 overall and 1-1-2 in GNAC play.
Freshman
Jim Wagenaar recorded his second collegiate hat trick, scoring the first three goals for NNU. His first goal came in the second minute of the game on an assist from
Johnny Ramirez. Wagenaar's second goal came in the 15
th minute on an assist from
Alan Soto Ortiz.
Jonathan Cardona assisted Wagenaar's third goal of the game in the 50
th minute.
Wagenaar is the first player in GNAC history to record hat tricks in back-to-back games. He also has 10 of NNU's 14 goals this season, already tied for fourth-best in a season in NNU's DII history and six back of the single-season record set by Fredy Razo in 2013.
NNU's final goal came in the 73
rd minute when
Peyton Motter scored on an assist from
Cameron Natvig. The goal was the first in Motter's career.
The Nighthawks next match is Saturday afternoon against Saint Martin's.
