Nighthawks Draw in Lacey

LACEY, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer tied with Saint Martin's Saturday afternoon.
 
The Nighthawks' record is now 3-4-4 overall and 1-1-3 in GNAC play.
 
An own goal by Saint Martin's in the fifth minute of the contest gave NNU an early 1-0 lead. Jim Wagenaar scored his 11th goal of the season in the 22nd minute of the match to give NNU a 2-0 lead. Jim's goal was assisted by Zakaria Daaou.
 
The Saint's answered with a goal in the 27th minute of the game, then tied the game with a goal in the 51st minute. The 2-2 score would hold to the final.
 
NNU took 16 shots and 11 shots on goal to SMU's 18 shots with eight shots on goal. Jim Wagenaar, Alan Soto Ortiz, and Sullivan Smith all had multiple shots on goal for the Nighthawks.
 
The Nighthawks next match is on the road against Western Oregon on October 19th.
