MONMOUTH, Ore. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer came from behind to defeat Western Oregon 2-1 on Thursday afternoon.

How it Happened

The Wolves scored first with a goal in the 9th minute of the game. The Nighthawks seemed to be in control on WOU's defensive half when a Wolves player broke free from the pack and took the ball down field to score.

The Nighthawks' first goal of the match came in the 40th minute when Jonathan Cardona intercepted a pass on NNU's defensive half. Cardona raced Western Oregon defenders down the field and delivered a cross to Lukas Juodkunaitis who rifled the ball past the Wolves keeper to tie the game 1-1.

After 40 minutes of scoreless play, NNU took their first lead at 2-1 in the 80th minute. Brandon Parsio sent a cross to Sullivan Smith who kicked the ball past the Wolves' diving goalie to give NNU their final goal of the match.
