NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer grew their win streak to five on Thursday night with a 3-0 shutout of Simon Fraser.
How It Happened
The Nighthawks got on the board almost immediately, scoring just 44 seconds into the game as
Ashley Parton broke free down the right side and sent a ball into the box that was punched into the back of the net by
Alejandra Jaramillo.
NNU tallied a nearly identical goal in the 23
rd minute, when
Savanna Herz crossed a ball in from the right side and after bouncing through a few players it fell to the feet of
Madison Grande, who drilled a laser into the top right corner of the net to make it 2-0.
The Nighthawks added another tally with just under 20 minutes to play, as
Sierra Sanchez gathered the ball about 35 yards out, juked a defender, and fired a shot from just outside the box past the keeper's outstretched glove.
The three goals would be more than enough as NNU's defense held the Red Leafs off the scoreboard with just three shots on goal.
