NNU Wins Eighth-Straight With Defeat of Western Oregon

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Northwest Nazarene volleyball improved to 3-0 to start GNAC play with a 3-1 victory (25-15, 25-27, 25-18, 25-22) over Western Oregon on Saturday.

How It Happened

The Nighthawks were able to pull away midway through the opening set with a 7-0 run to go up 19-9. NNU coasted from there, taking the 10-point set win.

Set two was close throughout, with neither team taking a lead of more than two. NNU led 24-23, but the Wolves were able to rally for four of the final five points to take the set 27-25.

The third set went similar to the first, starting close before the Nighthawks pulled away with a 10-3 run to take a 21-13 advantage. That lead was too much for the Wolves, as NNU took the set 25-18.
