Nighthawks Stun #14 Buffs in 1-0 Victory

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer knocked off #14 West Texas A&M in a thrilling match on Saturday.

How it Happened

The game was tied 0-0 for most of the first half. The Nighthawks didn't take as many shots as the Buffs in the first half, but they made their shots count with three of their five shots on target.

In the 33rd minute, Jake Levine sent a through ball to Sullivan Smith. Smith and the keeper were both racing toward the ball. Smith beat him there and flipped the ball past him to an open net for a Nighthawks goal.

In the second half, the Buffs had a couple opportunities to score. They had four corner kicks, and took four shots, but none of their shots were on target. The Nighthawks defense proved to be too strong for the Buffs and the game ended 1-0.
