NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer took care of business in their final match before the regular season gets underway, taking a 1-0 win over College of Idaho on Friday night.
How it Happened
NNU dominated the first half with eight shots to College of Idaho's one shot, but had nothing to show for it with the score locked at 0-0.
In the 62
nd minute,
Jimmy Koufidakis received a through ball from
Lukas Juodkunaitis, took a couple of touches away from the defender, and rifled a shot past the Yotes' keeper and into the net to put NNU on top.
That goal proved to be the deciding moment of the game as the Nighthawks held the Yotes off the scoreboard for all 90 minutes.

- The Nighthawks finished the game with 13 shots to C of I's three, and 11 corner kicks to C of I's zero
- Koufidakis had four shot attempts, followed by three from Juodkunaitis and three from Lorenzo Valentini
- Sawyer Price played the first 60 minutes in goal and didn't face a shot on target before being replaced by Andrew Clayton, who saved two attempts in the final 30 minutes
- NNU has now won six consecutive matches against College of Idaho
