Reidy Earns Academic All-District Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have announced the 2021-22 Academic All-District Teams for men's basketball, and Northwest Nazarene's George Reidy has earned the honor.

A senior academically, Reidy earns the recognition for the second year in a row, compiling a 3.88 GPA in Recreation & Sport Management. He is one of five West Region members on the team, and joins Harry Cavell from Seattle Pacific as the two GNAC representatives.

On the court, Reidy is in his redshirt sophomore season and is currently second on the team with 14.2. points per game. He averages 4.5 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, and is tied for second in the GNAC with 1.8 steals per game. He has also set the high scoring mark for any Nighthawk this season, tallying a career-best 27 points against Central Washington on Feb. 3. 

Reidy has helped NNU to an 8-7 overall mark and 6-4 record in the GNAC, currently ranking fourth in the conference standings and second in the GNAC Points Rating System.

The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
