NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's basketball fell to a hot-shooting Saint Martin's squad in their GNAC opener on Thursday, 78-63.

The Nighthawks fall to 2-5 on the season.

How It Happened

NNU and SMU stayed close for the whole first half, with neither team taking a lead of more than five.

The Saints had a late lead of four in the half, but
Yaru Harvey cut it to two, 37-35, with a buzzer-beating jumper in the lane.

Saint Martin's would come out of the break with a strong run, however, outscoring the Nighthawks 15-2 in the first four minutes to go up 52-37.

NNU would cut the lead down to 11 on a
Gabriel Murphy layup with 8:40 to play, but that was as close as the Nighthawks would come in the 78-63 defeat.
