Nighthawks Stifled by Midwestern State

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's basketball could not overcome a slow start against Midwestern State University of Texas on Saturday night, falling to the Mustangs 78-57.

The Nighthawks fall to 2-4 on the season.

How It Happened

NNU started cold from the floor, only making one shot over the first 11 minutes of the game as MSU took a 22-2 lead at the 9:06 mark. The lone field goal came on a Tru Allen reverse layup.

The rest of the half did not go much better, with the Nighthawks going into the break trailing by 27, 41-14.

The closest NNU would come the rest of the game came at the 13:35 mark of the second half, when Ryzin Bergersen made four triples on consecutive possessions to cut it to 17, 53-36.

The Nighthawks ended up outscoring the Mustangs 43-37 in the second half before MSU-Texas took the 78-57 victory.
