NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's basketball could not overcome a slow start against Midwestern State University of Texas on Saturday night, falling to the Mustangs 78-57.
The Nighthawks fall to 2-4 on the season.
How It Happened
NNU started cold from the floor, only making one shot over the first 11 minutes of the game as MSU took a 22-2 lead at the 9:06 mark. The lone field goal came on a
Tru Allen reverse layup.
The rest of the half did not go much better, with the Nighthawks going into the break trailing by 27, 41-14.
The closest NNU would come the rest of the game came at the 13:35 mark of the second half, when
Ryzin Bergersen made four triples on consecutive possessions to cut it to 17, 53-36.
The Nighthawks ended up outscoring the Mustangs 43-37 in the second half before MSU-Texas took the 78-57 victory.

- Bergersen had 14 points and six boards, going 4-7 from beyond the arc
- Yaru Harvey had 11 points to round out the NNU double digit scorers
