NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer blanked Montana State Billings 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
NNU improves to 7-1-3 overall and 5-0-2 in conference action.
How It Happened
The Nighthawks and Yellowjackets stayed scoreless throughout the opening half, despite NNU putting up 14 shots to just three for MSUB.
It didn't take long for NNU to strike after the break, though, as
Ashley Parton found the back of the net in the 50
th minute.
Kailyn LaBrosse broke free around a defender on the far side and sent a low ball across the box, where Parton was able to meet it at the near post and knock it in.
Parton doubled up the score with another goal just two minutes later.
Sierra Sanchez stole the ball in the midfield and led a two-on-three breakaway, drawing all three defenders towards her before finding Parton on the far side for a rocket that she sent into the upper left corner of the goal.
NNU cruised from there, not allowing MSUB much of anything offensively in the shutout victory.
