SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Northwest Nazarene men's soccer kicked off the 2021 campaign with a bang on Thursday, tallying twice in the second half to defeat San Francisco State 3-1.
Sebastian Cotrau scored the opening goal of the game with a strike in the 29th minute, and the Nighthawks would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
San Francisco State tied things up at one early in the second period on a penalty kick, but scores from
Jake Levine in the 63rd minute and
Nils Knosala in the 79th put NNU up for good.

NNU outshot SFSU 9-6 in the match, including 4-2 on goal.
Sawyer Price got the win in goal for the Nighthawks, going the entire 90 minutes with one save.
NNU will stay in Salt Lake City for a couple more days, taking on Humboldt State in another neutral-site contest on Saturday.
