NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene volleyball kept their momentum going on Friday, sweeping Alaska Fairbanks to improve to 3-0 for the week.
NNU is coming off of two wins at Colorado Christian on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will wrap up their four-match week with another contest against UAF tomorrow.
The Nighthawks improve to 6-7 on the year with the win, reversing fortunes against the Nanooks after dropping two matches earlier this season in Fairbanks.
NNU got off to really strong starts in all three matches, but UAF was able to hang around and make things interesting towards the end all three times. The Nighthawks withstood the runs, though, not dropping any sets in the victory.
Brooke Foster led the team with 10 kills, followed by
Anna Gable with eight and both
Natalie Sullivan and
Abbey Blum with seven. Foster also had 12 digs, while Sullivan added three blocks.
NNU tallied 11 aces as a team, including five from
Casey Kispert.
Caroline McMahon led the Nighthawks with 17 digs.
The Nighthawks will close out their home schedule tomorrow afternoon against UAF with Senior Day starting at 1:00 p.m.
