LACEY, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer defeated Saint Martin's 2-0 on Saturday for their 10th-straight victory to open the season.
The 13th-ranked Nighthawks finish a perfect 4-0 against the Saints on the year, and have the chance to complete a perfect season when they visit Western Oregon in their final match next week.
NNU has now shut out their opponents in six of ten matches this year, outscoring them 28-5 overall.Â
The Nighthawks got their goals early, as
Ashley Parton scored in just the fourth minute of action off an assist from
Carolyn Moravec.
McKenzie Buell doubled the lead seven minutes later, finishing off an assist from
Magda Wronski to make it 2-0.Â
NNU would lock down on defense from there, not allowing the Saints a single shot on goal in the game.Â
The Nighthawks go for perfection next Saturday, visiting Western Oregon at 1:00 p.m. Pacific.
