SPOKANE, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene men's soccer went toe-to-toe with Division I foe Gonzaga on Tuesday afternoon, matching the Bulldogs for almost the entire game until GU was able to score in the 89th minute to win 1-0.
After a scoreless first 88 minutes, Gonzaga's Sebastian Karlhom netted what proved to be the game-winner.
"I'm proud of the guys' response from last Saturday, and of their preparation and effort to execute the game plan," said head coach
Adam Pearce. "We just need to create a few more dangerous chances but overall had our chances to score and win the game."
NNU tallied six shots in the game, putting two on goal.
Lukas Juodkunaitis had three of the six, putting two of his three on frame.
Sawyer Price played well in goal, logging all 90 minutes and recording five saves.
