POCATELLO, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene women's volleyball put up a great fight after going down two sets at Idaho State, but the rally fell short as the Bengals defeated the Nighthawks 3-1 on Friday night.
After ISU took the opening two frames, NNU responded with a 25-20 win in set three and kept things very close in set four before the Bengals were able to put the Nighthawks away with a 25-21 victory.
NNU hit very well in that third set, registering a .385 attack percentage with 15 kills. Overall in the match, the Nighthawks hit better than the Bengals, .222 to .197. NNU also won the battle up at the net, recording 11 blocks to ISU's eight.
Brooke Foster led the Nighthawks with 16 kills and 15 digs.
Natalie Sullivan was right behind her with 15 kills and four blocks, while
Caroline McMahon led the team with 16 digs.Â
NNU will get a chance to return the favor in the rematch tomorrow afternoon, with game time set for 5:00 p.m.
