KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches released the West Region awards on Tuesday, with Northwest Nazarene's
Madison Grande earning Second Team All-Region honors.
Grande had a breakout season for the Nighthawks with 19 total points, tying for second in the GNAC with nine goals and ranking second with 62 shots. The shots mark and her 30 shots on goal are both new program records. Her nine goals also tied for fifth in program history for a single season.
The forward is just the third NNU women's soccer member to receive All-Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches, joining Sarah Staropoli (Third Team, 2012) and Katy McNutt (Second Team, 2004).
Nine GNAC student-athletes earned All-Region honors, with Seattle Pacific receiving three First Team honors and Western Washington notching four First Team and one Second Team award.
Grande was also named All-Region by the D2CCA and was one of six unanimous selections to the All-GNAC First Team.
