OLYMPIA, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer nearly completed a comeback on Saturday, adding a late goal but falling 2-1 to Saint Martin's.
How It Happened
- Saint Martin's opened the scoring in the 39th minute as Jason Fairhurst put the home team up 1-0.
- Fairhurst got the brace in the 71st minute, doubling the Saints lead with just under 20 minutes to play.
- NNU was able to get on the board in the 80th minute, when Jonathan Cardona found Braeden Anderson for his first goal of the season.
- NNU wasn't able to manufacture any more shots, though, and fell by the 2-1 score.

- NNU falls to 3-5 in the GNAC and 6-8 overall with two games to play.
- Anderson's goal was the second of his career, with the other also coming against Saint Martin's in 2019.
- The assist was Cardona's third of the season, ranking third on the team.
- Both teams attempted nine shots, with SMU holding a slight 4-3 advantage in shots on goal.
