MONMOUTH, Ore. – Northwest Nazarene volleyball stumbled on the road on Thursday, falling to Western Oregon 3-1.
How It Happened
- The first set was back-and-forth until the end, when after the score was tied at 17, the Wolves scored eight of the last 10 points to take the frame 25-19.
- NNU bounced back in set two, rolling to a convincing 25-15 victory.
- The big margin of victory would not carry any momentum over to the rest of the match, however, as Western Oregon took set three 25-19 and set four 25-21.
Nighthawks Notes
- NNU was led offensively by three Nighthawks with double-digit kills: Molly Anderson with 13, Anna Gable with 11, and Natalie Sullivan with 10.
- Sullivan also had 19 digs for the Nighthawks.
- Caroline McMahon had a stellar effort defensively with 37 digs, a mark that ties for fifth-most in a single match in program history.
- Megan MacKinney added 20 digs and three aces.
- Gable added five blocks and Gabi Haws notched 34 assists.
