NNU Earns Big Road Win at Montana State Billings

BILLINGS, Mont. – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer secured a big road victory on Thursday, taking down Montana State Billings 1-0.
 
How It Happened
  • The lone goal came in the 37th minute, when Makayla Roggow found the back of the net off an assist from Magda Wronski.
  • The Nighthawks earned a corner, with Wronski sending in a quick pass to the middle of the box, where Roggow rose to head it up and over the MSUB keeper and into the goal.
  • The Yellowjackets put up a fight in the second half, taking nine shots and forcing seven saves from NNU's Alexis Montoya, but Montoya and the Nighthawks kept MSUB out of the scoring column to take the win.
Nighthawks Notes
  • NNU gets back to .500 in GNAC play with the win, improving to 3-3-1 against conference opponents and 5-3-2 overall.
  • Montoya finished with 11 saves, equaling her career-high that she has now reached three times. She is also now up to 15 career shutouts.
  • The goal was Roggow's second of the season and fifth of her career, while the assist was Wronski's fifth of the year and 14th at NNU.
  • NNU had a significant advantage in earning corners, taking eight to just two for MSUB.
