NNU Blanks Central Washington on the Road

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer earned their third win in the last four games with a 1-0 defeat of Central Washington on Saturday.

How It Happened
  • The Nighthawks and Wildcats were locked in a scoreless battle for the first 60 minutes, with both teams getting chances but neither able to find the back of the net.
  • The lone goal of the match finally came in the 63rd minute, when Kailyn LaBrosse sent a throw into the box for Ashley Parton, who tucked the ball in past the far post for the score.
  • NNU held on to that lead, blanking the Wildcats for the second time this season.
Nighthawks Notes
  • The Nighthawks improve to 6-3-2 on the year and 4-3-1 in GNAC play.
  • In the two shutouts of CWU this year, NNU has outscored the Wildcats 6-0.
  • The Nighthawks outshot the Wildcats 20-8 (10-6 on goal) and earned six corners to CWU's one.
  • Parton's goal was her second of the season, moving her into a tie for second on the team with five total points.
  • Alexis Montoya made six saves to earn the shutout, the 16th of her career.
