PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the weekly award winners for Oct. 4-10 on Monday, and Northwest Nazarene's
Madison Grande was named the women's soccer offensive player of the week.
The sophomore from Gig Harbor, Wash., had two goals and an assist in NNU's 1-0-1 week.
She scored the game-winner in the 42nd minute of the Nighthawks' 2-0 shutout over Saint Martin's on Thursday. She then scored the opening goal in the 32nd minute and assisted on the second goal in the 56th minute in Saturday's 2-2 tie with Western Oregon, bringing her point total for the week to five.
Grande now leads the Nighthawks in both goals (four) and points (nine) on the season. She is also tied for the GNAC goal lead and is tied for fourth in total points.
NNU has a pair of big GNAC road contests coming up this week, looking for wins at Montana State Billings on Thursday and Central Washington on Saturday.
