Nighthawks swept by Falcons

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team opened the second-half of Great Northwest Athletic Conference play with a three-set loss to Seattle Pacific.

The Falcons tripped up the Nighthawks 25-15, 25-22, 25-22.

"We didn't play our best tonight and they were dialed into what we were going to do," NNU coach Doug English said. "They had a plan and they stopped us. Our outsides played well. We were up in Set 2 and 3, but we weren't able to sustain side outing and we let Seattle Pacific get back into it with defense."

Brooke Foster's 15 kills and 10 digs led the Nighthawks offense, while Natalie Sullivan added 11 kills. Megan Nelson had 29 assists, while Kayla Sale had 21 digs.

The Nighthawks (9-9 overall, 5-6 GNAC) have to shake the loss off and head to Saint Martin's on Saturday to try and get back on the right track.

"I think this group has done a great job of setting their standards for energy and execution and tonight was below those standards," English said. "We weren't at our best – and some of that was because of Seattle Pacific putting us in that position, but we can embrace what we want to be as a volleyball team Saturday and go and play great."
