ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 2-1 victory Thursday at Northern State in South Dakota.
Madi Taylor scored a pair of goals giving her four on the young season and
Chloe Sholtz made four saves in goal to make it stand up.
"It was good to get the win on the road," NNU coach
Mary Trigg said. "Overall, it was a bit of a frustrating game. We had 29 shots and we were struggling to finish.
"The chances were there, but we made it a closer game than it needed to be. We'll learn and get better for Saturday."
Taylor scored in the 11th minute off an assist from freshman defender
Chandler Kauffman. After Northern (2-1-0) tied it at 1-1 in the 53rd, Taylor scored her fourth goal of the season unassisted in the 67th minute.
The Nighthawks (4-0-0) finished with 11 shots on goal, but couldn't add to the lead.
NNU continues its tour of the Dakotas, playing at Minot State at 6 p.m. MDT on Saturday in Minot, North Dakota.
