ELLENSBURG, Wash. – In Northwest Nazarene's final road match of the year, the Nighthawks were swept by Central Washington in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action.
The Nighthawks (6-18 overall, 6-11 GNAC) lost 25-19, 25-7, 25-20 on Tuesday to the Wildcats (19-5, 13-4).
"The first and third sets were great and we were in both sets," NNU coach
Doug English said. "They are big, tall and they block well. They passed well and they dug well – they had 50 kills and just seven errors. In sets one and three we were close and able to score some points."
Cami Heninger's nine kills and 14 digs led NNU, while
Abbey Blum and
Kayla Sale had six kills each and
Tayler Markland had five.
Shayli Siegfreid had 19 digs,
Megan Nelson had 18 assists and five digs and
Mckenzie Lee had nine assists.
"I thought we responded really nice after a not good second set," English said. "I think that is encouraging heading into the last three matches of the season."
NNU hosts Montana State Billings at 7 p.m. Saturday before hosting the Alaska schools during Homecoming festivities.
