King and Schulte to Buhne power Crusaders past Simon Fraser

NAMPA, Idaho - Briaunna King scored a game-high 23 points and Katharina Schulte to Buhne added a career-high 20 to power the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team past Simon Fraser University on Monday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the Johnson Sports Center.
 
Schulte to Buhne matched her career rebounding mark of 10 and King added eight 'boards as the post duo led the Crusaders to a 47-35 rebounding edge and helped the Crusaders (7-5, 2-2 GNAC) shoot 48.1-percent (38-79) from the floor, going a combined 19 of 28 from the field.
 
GNAC leading scorer Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe led Simon Fraser with 22 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.  The loss moves the Clan to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in GNAC play.
 
NNU's Megan Hingston added 12 points and Heather Adams, Falissa Smith and Monica Garcia all dished four assists to help the Crusaders to an 18 to 16 assist to turnover ratio.
 
Kristina Collins also reached double-figures for the Clan and Carla Wyman scored seven and handed out a game-high six assists.
 
Playing three league games this week, the Crusaders will now travel to Alaska to face the University of Alaska Anchorage on Thursday night.
