Brady and Williams lead Crusaders past Wildcats

NAMPA, Idaho - Lindsay Brady scored 15 and Jennifer Williams added 14 points and seven rebounds as the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team defeated Central Washington University 76-53 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.
 
Brady and Williams were joined in double-figures by Kristin Hein with 12 points and seven rebounds and Julianne Bazzi with a career-high 11 points.
 
Brady scored 12 of her 15 in the first half to give the Crusaders a 39-27 lead at the break and Bazzi scored nine of her 11 in a 15-2 run midway through the second-half to push the Crusader lead to 25 at 73-48 with 4:03 left to play.
 
The Crusaders (12-2, 2-1 GNAC) scored 30 of their points off 29 Central Washington turnovers and held the Wildcats to 39-percent shooting (21-54).
 
CWU (4-9, 1-2 GNAC) was led by Sophie Russell who scored a game-high 20, while Sara Bergner added 14 and Shaina Afoa pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
 
NNU shot 42-percent (28-67) from the floor and 87-percent (14-16) from the free throw line.
 
The Crusaders will host 21st-ranked Seattle Pacific University on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in a GNAC counter.
