NAMPA, Idaho - Tied at 71-71,
Adam Shildmyer buried a three-pointer with 21 seconds to play and the Northwest Nazarene basketball team went on to defeat San Diego Christian College 77-74 to claim the final game of the 2008 Wendy's Classic at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.
Shildmyer answered the final bell again on Saturday, having made clutch free-throws in Friday night's win over Montana Western, with a straight-away triple to put the Crusaders on top 74-71. SDCC's Jesse LeBeau would then convert a lay-in with seven seconds left to pull the Hawks within one, but

NNU improves to 7-2 overall and San Diego Christian, an NAIA Division I foe from the Golden State Athletic Conference, falls to 3-5 after a pair of three point losses.
Louie Beech led the Crusaders with 20 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while
Joel Ryman came off the bench to score 19, and Gielow finished with 13.

NNU will host Walla Walla College next Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. before taking a 10-day Christmas break. The Crusaders will play their final non-conference game of the season on Saturday, December 30th, when they host Eastern Oregon University, also a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
