Crusaders fall at #17 Seattle University

SEATTLE - The Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team fell 76-58 at 17th-ranked Seattle University on Saturday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest in Seattle.

Behind a decisive 49-22 edge in rebounding, the Redhawks improved to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in GNAC play.  The Crusaders are now 10-3 overall, 2-2 in league action, and will return to Nampa to host Seattle Pacific University next Saturday night.

Justin Parnell and Joel Ryman shared game-high honors with Seattle's Michael Wright as each player scored 15.  Kendall Gielow scored eight and both Scott Helpenstell and Tyler Roberts added seven.

NNU shot just 36.5 percent (19-52) from the floor and were only 4 of 20 from the three pont line.

SU's Chris Gweth led all players on the glass with 10 rebounds and finished with seven points.  Ryan Coldren and Ricky Berry scored eight apiece and Mike Boxley chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.
