| By:

NAMPA, Idaho - Joel Ryman made four first-half three-pointers to lead the Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team to an 82-74 victory over Colorado Christian University on Friday night in the second game of the Shilo Inn & Suites Classic at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.

Ryman, who finished with a team-high 18 points, led the Crusader charge from the arc as NNU buried 12-of-19 three-pointers and shot 57-percent (28-49) from the field. Kendall Gielow scored 12, Scott Helpenstell added 11 and Tyler Roberts had 10 to push the Crusaders to 4-0 overall on the season.

Brian Stamer led the Cougars (1-3) with a game-high 23 points and Rory Morgan and Jordan Long had 14 and 10 points, respectively.

"I was really pleased with our defensive effort, especially in the second half," commented NNU head coach Tim Hills. "We forced 25 turnovers and limited their three-point attempts, which was our specific goal in tonight's game. Now we just need to take better care of the basketball on our end." NNU committed 22 turnovers and lost the rebounding battle 25-27.

NNU will now face Colorado School of Mines (4-1) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the final game of the Shilo Inn & Suites Classic. CSM defeated MSU Billings 114-70 in the opening game of the classic this afternoon.
