Prior to NNU
Played both freshman and sophomore years at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington…As a sophomore was named to the All-NWAACC North Division first-team and as a freshman was a second-team selection…Averaged 16 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore during the regular season and then led the NWAACC’s in rebounding with 11 rebounds per game in the playoffs.

High School
Graduated from Port Angeles High School in 2004…As a senior was a First-Team All-Narrows League selection and was a second-team pick as a junior…Played against Marvin Williams, now with the Atlanta Hawks, in high school.

22 years old…Born on 9/19/85…Parents are Dan & Pam Helpenstell…Major is Recreation & Sports Management with an emphasis in Athletic Training…Favorite childhood toys were Ninja Turtles…Favorite hobby is riding motorcycles and working on cars…One thing I like about NNU:  The friendliness of the community…Something about me that might surprise people:  I have a younger brother who is 11 years old who plays baseball, football and basketball…Younger sister, Brooke, plays basketball at Peninsula College and was first-team All-NWAACC North Division as a freshman!
