Begining his fourth year at the helm of the NNU men’s basketball program, Tim Hills brings a wealth of experience to the NNU bench each and every day.

The 2005 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Co-Coach of the Year, Coach Hills has 480 collegiate wins and brings over 35 years of experience to NNU bench.

Hired in May of 2006, NNU athletic director Rich Sanders had this to say about coach Hills...“I have had the fortune, or the misfortune, to have coached head-to-head against Coach Hills’ teams over many years,” Sanders commented.  “He is known throughout the coaching fraternity for his game preparation and his ability to get the most from his players.  Tim’s previous success at a private Christian university positively prepares him for the expectations at our university.  Tim possesses the unique character traits of being both fiercely competitive and spiritually bold.”

Hills spent 23 of those 34 years guiding the program at Corban College (formerly Western Baptist College in Salem, Oregon).  At Corban College, Hills compiled a record of 394-360, earning NAIA or NCCAA Coach of the Year honors eight times, and advancing his teams to the post season in 16 of 23 seasons.

Coach Hills served as the head coach at Western Oregon University from 2002 to 2005 and compiling a 47-34 record while guiding the Wolves.

Hills led the Chemeketa Community College program to four league championships from 1983 to 1987, posting a 95-22 record, and was named the Southern Region NWAACC Coach of the Year in both 1984 and 1985.  In addition to his two-year and four-year college men’s assignments, Hills also spent two years at the helm of the Western Oregon women’s program, guiding the Lady Wolves to a 31-23 record from 2000 to 2002.

Inducted into the NAIA District II Coaches Hall of Fame in 1994, Hills is also a 1990 inductee of the Oregon Softball Hall of Fame.

Hills graduated from Western Baptist Bible College in El Cerrito, California in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science and later earned his Teaching Certificate from Western Oregon University in 1976.

Tim and his wife, JoAnne, have been married for 40 years and have two grown children, Jodi and Brian, as well as four grandchildren (Blake, Connor, Easton and Emmi).
