DUPONT, Wash. - After day on of the SMU Bishop Invitational was rained out, the NNU men's golf team finished their season opener tied for sixth place out of 15 teams.
NNU shot +9 in the first round of place and followed it up with a solid +2 in day two. They finished in front of fellow GNAC member Montana State Billings (+17) and behind another GNAC member Simon Fraser (+5). The Nighthawks finished tied with Dominican (Calif.).
Kasey Gaff led the way for NNU in the first round of competition, shooting a 71 (-1) followed by
JJ Brigowatz and
Gage Slaughter who shot a 75 (+3).
The final round saw
Dylan Christensen lead the way with a 70 (-2) and again followed by Brigowatz with a 71 (-1). Brigowatz finished competition with five birdies.
NNU will look forward to an exhibition match against College of Idaho on October 2nd.Â
