NAMPA, Idaho - The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team will host a pair of GNAC matches this Thursday and Saturday after finishing a road trip against Western Washington and Simon Fraser. The Nighthawks will welcome Saint Martin's on Thursday with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. and Western Oregon on Saturday with a noon kickoff. 

Northwest Nazarene

The Nighthawks are coming off a disappointing road stretch where they dropped their first two games of conference play. After hanging with Western Washington for 72 minutes, the Vikings broke through with the game's lone goal in the 73rd minute to take a win, NNU struggled against Simon Fraser who fired 25 total shots with 14 of them being on target as the Red Leafs ran away with a 7-1 win.
NNU currently has an 0-5-1 overall record and is 0-2 in GNAC play. Their lone draw came on August 29th with a 2-2 result against Menlo College in Atherton, Calif. Outside of their last match against SFU, NNU has been in every game and hasn't given up more than two goals in a game. 

NNU has scored four goals this season and is averaging 0.67 goals per game while averaging 11.7 shots per game. Out of their 70 total shots, 26 have been on target with a 37.1 shots on goal percentage. Defensively, the Nighthawks have given up 14 goals this season and are averaging 2.33 goals against per game. They have given up 82 total shots with 13.7 shots per game and have allowed 42 shots on goal.

Mylee Carver Moulton leads NNU with two goals and four points this season while Lucy Bergford and Elliana Kimball each have one goal and two points. Mackenzie Brown, Keira Dwinell, and Attie Jo Westbrook have one assist on the season.

Alex Barrass has played every minute in goal for NNU and has tallied 25 saves on 82 shots face. Barrass has conceded 14 goals with a save percentage of 64.1. 

Saint Martin's

Saint Martin's comes into this game with a 1-5-1 overall record and 0-2 in GNAC play. The Saints opened up the 2026 season with a 1-0 loss to NAIA Eastern Oregon before defeating another NAIA opponent Warner Pacific 2-1. SMU has not won since after dropping a game against UC Merced (Calif.), drawing 0-0 with MSU Denver, and losing 3-0 to Regis (Colo.) before dropping their first GNAC matches to Seattle Pacifc 3-0 and Montana State Billings 2-1. 

Saint Martin's is lead by Scott Ford in his second season. Ford previously spent time as the assistant coach for Pacific Lutheran's women's soccer program from 2018-25. Last season, he led the Saints to a 2-12-4 overall record and a1-9-4 in GNAC play.

SMU has scored three goals this season and is averaging 0.43 goals per game while they have given up 14 goals, 2.00 per game. The Saints have taken 68 shots, 9.7 shots per game with 34 shots on goal for an even 50.0 shots on goal percentage. Defensively the Saints have given up 79 total shots with 11.3 shots per game. They have given up 44 shots on goal for a shots on goal percentage of 55.7.

Peyton Browser leads Saint Martin's with two goals and four points while Bella Gonzales has the other goal for the Saints. Annika Akiona and Nora Melcher each have one assist. 

Sam Escobar has started every game for the Saints, recording 27 saves on 71 shots and has given up 12 goals with a 69.2 save percentage. Escobar has a 1-5-1 record with one shutout and is averaging 1.85 goals against per game. Kami Bullock has played in one half giving up two goals with three saves and is averaging 4.00 goals against.  

All-time vs Saint Martin's

The Nighthawks have dominated the all-time rivalry with a record of 26-9-2. SMU has not beaten NNU since Oct. 31, 2015 on a 1-0 decision in Lacey. NNU is unbeaten in their last 19 matches with SMU posted a 19-0-1 record and outscoring the Saints 45-7 in that span. NNU won the last meeting, 3-0 as Machenzie Brown, Alexis Cromwell, and Brianna Abo each scored on senior day.

Western Oregon

Western Oregon 1-3-2 overall record and is 1-0-1 in conference play. WOU opened the season with a 1-1 draw against Univ. of Mary (N.D.) before falling to No.12 Colorado School of Mines 2-1. The Wolves got their first win of the year on a 1-0 decision against Chico State a week later. Since, WOU is winless with a 1-0 loss ot Colorado Mesa, a 1-1 tie to open GNAC play to MSU Billings, and most recently a 3-0 loss to Seattle Pacific. Western Oregon will travel to Ellensburg, Wash. on Thursday to play Central Washington before continuing to Nampa for a noon kickoff.

Nate Ulness is in his first season with Western Oregon after serving as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at Division I Eastern Washington since 2022. Eastern Washington produced three Big Sky Offensive Players of the Year, five first-team All-Big Sky selections and seven second-team selections during his time with the Eagles. 

The Wolves have scored four goals this season and are averaging 0.80 goals per game. WOU has taken 54 total shots with 10.8 per game and has 22 shots on goal for a shots on goal percentage of 40.7. Defensively, WOU has given up five goals, 1.00 goal per game and allowed 65 total shots for an even 13 shots per game. Opponents have tallied 34 shots on gaol with a shots on goal percentage of 52.3. 

Western Oregon has seen offensive production for Kyra DiBenedetto, Kassie Carpenter, Maya Courtenay, and Abby Doyle who have each scored one goal. Charolotte Barton, Leiloa Fesolai and Grace Townsend have each recorded an assist.

Ayanah Soon is the only goalkeeper to see action with five starts. She ahs given up five goals this season, averaging one goal per game and 29 saves on 65 shots for a save percentage of 85.3.

All-time vs Western Oregon

NNU trails in the all-time series 14-25-9 with their last win coming on Sept. 23, 2023 with a 3-2 road victory. Since then, the Nighthawks are 0-4-1 and have been outscored 9-3 in that stretch. NNU lost the last match to WOU, 2-1 last October.
