PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Atheltic Conference has announced that Northwest Nazarene has won the GNAC Academic All-Sports Trophy for the second year in a row. 

The Nighthawks earned a combined 143 points which was nine points ahead of second place Seattle Pacific with 134 points. 

NNU also won the men's sports academic championship with 61 points and were the runner up for women's sport with 82 points. NNU was two points shy of tying Seattle Pacific for the lead with 84 points.

NNU earned top GPAs in both Men's and Women's Track & Field with a 3.35 and 3.64, respectively. Additionally, the Nighthawks had five more programs place third with women's golf having a 3.62, women's soccer with a 3.67, men's basketball tied for third with Western Oregon with a 3.42, men's cross country with a 3.52, and men's soccer with a 3.36.

This is the ninth time that Northwest Nazarene has claimed the Academic All-Sports Trophy since the conference was formed in 2001. That is the most out of any GNAC member. This is also the eighth men's academic title in school history.
