PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference has announced the softball Player of the Week. Ashely Espino has earned the honor for the first time this season. 

The redshirt freshman was impossible to get out in three games against Central Washington this past weekend. Espino reached base seven times going five-for-five with two walks. Along with those five hits, she recorded two home runs in the second game of the four-game series. Those homers are the first two in her collegiate career.

Espino scored two runs herself while also recording seven RBIs and improves her batting average to .355.

The Nighthawks are currently on a nine-game win streak and have a record of 34-17 overall and 15-9 in GNAC play. They will travel to Ellensburg, Wash. for the GNAC Tournament where they will face No. 2 seeded Western Washington at 12 p.m. PT on May 7.
