NAMPA, Idaho - The Northwest Nazarene softball team saw two members named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Team and
Miah Lusk was named to the first team while
Emma Bumatay and
Ava Clark were named to the second team.
Lusk adds to her 2026 campaign with a first team selection to the D2CCA All-West Region Team. Lusk was elite this season, posting a 2.71 ERA with 139.1 innings pitched. She led the GNAC in strike outs with 167, tied 27th in all of Division II softball. The second-year starter finished with a 16-8 overall record with two saves led the Nighthawks to a third seed in the GNAC Tournament.
Joining Lusk was senior first baseman,
Emma Bumatay. Bumatay was one of the best power hitters in the GNAC. She finished the season with 12 home runs which was third in the conference while having the fourth highest slugging percentage (.652) and seventh highest OPS (1.071). The Fresno, California native closes out her NNU career as a two-time All-GNAC selection, earning first team honors this year and second-team as a sophomore. She finds herself with 28 career home runs, which is the third most in program history and is fifth with 122 RBIs.Â
Ava Clark earned second team honors as she put together the best season of her career. The junior hit in the lead off spot for the Nighthawks had an average of .371 which was top ten in the GNAC and led the Nighthawks. Additionally, Clark had the fourth highest OPS in the conference while leading NNU out of all qualified players while tallying 56 hits, 12 doubles, four triples, and five home runs while stealing 35 bases.Â
Other GNAC members of the All-Region team included Western Washington's Maleah Andrews, Emmajoy Wise, Hailey Rath and MSUB's Marleigh Nieto. Jillian Albayati from Cal State San Marcos was named the player of the year and Marissa Quintereo from Cal State East Bay was named the Pitcher of the Year.
