Briggs Ranstrom was named GNAC player of the week heading into the GNAC tournament. Briggs was a force on the final weekend of the regular season, helping the Nighthawks win twice to secure a tie for second place in the GNAC standings. Ranstrom started his big wee with a 12-rebound, 11-point double-double in NNU's victory over Simon Fraser on Thursday, adding four assists, a pair of steals and a block in 35 solid minutes on the floor. He then made 8 of 10 shots in his team's victory over Western Washington on Saturday, finishing with a season-high 20 points and adding five boards, four assists and a pair of blocks. Overall on the week Ranstrom averaged 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals per game, while making 12 of 20 shots (60.0%) including 4 of 7 threes (57.1%). In 69 minutes played, Ranstrom committed just one turnover.
