DURANGO, Colo. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer ran into an extremely tough Fort Lewis side on Saturday night, falling 8-1 on the road to the 9
th-ranked Skyhawks.
The Nighthawks fall to 3-1-1 on the year.
NNU got the opening tally of the match in the 20
th minute, with
Rylan McPherson slotting home a goal on assists from
Alex Barragan and
Kwame Kwakye.
Fort Lewis answered almost immediately, though, tying the game just a minute later. The Skyhawks then took the lead in the 25
th minute, and would score four more times before halftime as the home team went into the break up 6-1.
Two more chances would find the net in the second half as the Skyhawks took the victory.
NNU has one more non-conference weekend next week, heading to Dallas for games against Midwestern State on Thursday and St. Mary's on Saturday.
