Men Take NNU Invite Title, Kemble Wins Again

| By:
NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's cross country dominated its first home meet since the 2013 season on Friday morning, with Brody Kemble winning the individual title and the team taking first by a wide margin.

The Nighthawks totaled 26 points, with all five counting runners finishing in the top 12, including three of the top four. College of Idaho was next with 47 points, followed by College of Southern Idaho at 83, Eastern Oregon at 98, and Treasure Valley CC at 134.

Brody Kemble won his second race in as many chances this season, finishing with a time of 25:01.05 that was eight seconds clear of the next runner.

Grady Mylander was third in the race with a time of 25:16.99, followed by Ian Stockett in fourth with a time of 25:28.80. An unattached runner finished second, so Mylander and Stockett actually finished second and third in terms of team points.

Neftalí Menendez was next for NNU, placing 10th (nine points) with a time of 26:08.01. Asher Ingram rounded out the five scorers in 12th (10 points) with a time of 26:24.25.

Micah Chi was sixth for the Nighthawks (13th overall) and Christian Gump seventh (17th overall). Aaron Heberlein, Evan Bennett, Jonah Rau, Timothy Bradshaw, Grant Petty, Emmett Stouffer, Noah Eichenbusch, Matthew Ottley, Zach Tatro, and Brandon Markle also ran for NNU.

The Nighthawks will be back in action next weekend, heading to Monmouth, Oregon for the Mike Johnson Classic at WOU on Saturday, Sept. 27.
