PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC released the results of the 2025 Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Monday, with Northwest Nazarene picked to finish as the runner-up out of the 10 teams.
NNU earned 92 points in the poll, just six behind preseason favorite Western Washington and easily clearing Alaska Anchorage's 73 for second place. The Nighthawks also grabbed two first-place votes, with the Vikings taking the other eight. Western Oregon and Central Washington round out the top five.
After being picked fifth ahead of last year's season, NNU surprised the conference with a runner-up finish at the 2024 GNAC Championships. Four of the five runners who contributed to the Nighthawks' score at the championships are back this year in seniors
Brody Kemble and
Grady Mylander and juniors
Ian Stockett and
Asher Ingram.
The Nighthawks open their 2025 campaign at the College of Southern Idaho Invitational on Sept. 5. After that, NNU will host their first home meet since the 2014 season when they hold the NNU Invitational at West Park on Friday, Sept. 19. The GNAC Championships are set to be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at MSUB's Amend Park.
