Men's Basketball Inks Three Signings for 2025-26

| By:
NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's basketball head coach Jon Hawkins has announced three high school signings to the program for the 2025-26 season.

NNU men's basketball is coming off of their third NCAA Regional appearance in the last five seasons after tying their DII program record for wins in a season with 20 and finishing second in the GNAC for the third time in the last four years.

See below for information on the three new signees.

Aaron Dunne
Fr. | Forward | 6'10" | American Fork, Utah | American Fork HS

Dunne joins the Nighthawks as a strong interior presence at 6-10. He is a prolific shooter for a big man, as he shot 80% from the free throw line, 50% from the three-point line, and 50% from the field during his high school career. While at American Fork HS, his team was the 2022 Utah 6A State Champions. With his AAU team, Dunne was the leader in points per possession.

Dunne graduated from American Fork HS in 2023 and initially signed with NNU before going on an LDS mission for the last two years. He is also insanely skilled at pickleball.

From Aaron: "I chose to come to NNU because of the opportunity to get a college education, to be at a school with such high morals and integrity, and to win some basketball games."

Ethan Berninger
Fr. | Guard | 6'4" | Littleton, Colorado | Dakota Ridge HS

Berninger comes to Nampa after a very successful high school career at Dakota Ridge, where he finished as the school's all-time leader in points, three-pointers made, and games played. He averaged 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game during his career. He also earned League MVP and Second Team All-State honors as well as two First Team All-Conference honors.

Berninger's Dakota Ridge team won their league two years in a row and earned back-to-back Elite 8 appearances at state in those seasons. Academically, he has also been on the 4.0+ honor roll all four years of high school.

From Ethan: "I chose NNU because I loved the coaching staff and team on my visit and really felt it was where God wants me to go. I am excited to meet a lot of new people and play at the highest level of basketball that I have so far and to join such a successful program like NNU."

Quincy Scott
Fr. | Wing | 6'6" | Portland, Oregon | Grant HS

Scott comes to Northwest Nazarene from Grant High School in Portland, where his team reached the Oregon state semifinals and had multiple 20+ win seasons during his career. He was also named Second Team All-Portland Interscholastic League.

Scott also excelled academically in high school with a 4.0 GPA and was a member of Student Government. He is also fluent in Spanish.

From Quincy: "I chose NNU because of the tight knit community and the genuine kindness that revolves around the campus. I'm most excited to meet new people and play basketball at a high level."
